Technical and Ethical Limitations

5.1 Probabilistic nature

Geolocation results are probability-based estimates, not absolute certainties. AI models may make errors due to:

  • Image quality, resolution, or characteristics.
  • Visual similarity between different locations.
  • Changes in landscape, architecture, or environment since model training.
  • Inherent limitations of computer vision.

5.2 Margins of error

Each prediction includes a confidence level and an estimated geographic area. Users must interpret this data appropriately:

  • High confidence (>80%): Greater probability of accuracy, but not absolute guarantee.
  • Medium confidence (50-80%): Indicative results requiring additional validation.
  • Low confidence (<50%): Indicative results to be treated with caution.

5.3 Not suitable for critical decisions without validation

Important warning: Our services should NOT be used as the sole source of evidence in situations where there are serious consequences without independent verification, such as:

  • Judicial proceedings: Legal evidence affecting fundamental freedoms or rights.
  • Critical security operations: Police, military, or emergency interventions.
  • Medical or life-or-death decisions.
  • Public accusations: Allegations that may affect individuals' reputation or security.

In these cases, results should be treated as supporting information and always verified through additional methods (field investigation, cross-validation, documentary confirmation).
