Geolocate a screenshot
Screenshots never carry location data, that is why metadata tools fail on them. GeoInfer does not use metadata. It reads the pixels, so it can geolocate a screenshot just as well as an original photo.
Why screenshots defeat metadata tools
When you screenshot an image, the operating system captures pixels, not the original file, so any EXIF or GPS data is gone. Reverse-image search only helps if the exact image is already indexed somewhere. GeoInfer takes a different route: it analyses the visual scene in the screenshot and predicts the location directly, whether or not that image exists anywhere else online.

FAQ
Can you find the location of a screenshot?
Yes. GeoInfer predicts location from the visual content of the screenshot, so it works even though screenshots carry no EXIF or GPS data.
Why do other tools fail on screenshots?
Most rely on EXIF metadata, which screenshots do not have, or on reverse-image search, which only works if the image is already indexed. GeoInfer reads the pixels instead.
