How the GeoInfer bot works

The bot runs the same model as the GeoInfer web app and API: one trained model that reads architecture, terrain, vegetation and roads, with no web search and no EXIF. It replies to each photo with up to 10 ranked places. Does it need EXIF or GPS data?
No. It estimates the location from what is visible in the image, so it works on screenshots, forwarded photos and images with the metadata removed.
Can I use it in a Telegram group?
Yes. Add @geoinferbot to the group and have an admin send /group on. Each photo uses the credits of the person who sent it.
Does it work with my GeoInfer account?
Yes. Connect the chat in Settings, Telegram on app.geoinfer.com. Your plan and credits then work on the website, the API and Telegram.
Does it identify people?
No. GeoInfer locates places, not people. It does not do facial recognition.
